Forecasted winds will postpone the annual hot air balloon glow according to Dr Mark Frazer, chairperson of the event scheduled for Tuesday, December 7.
Hot air balloons were expected to inflate and stay on the ground lighting up the night as a part of the Light Up Middletown display. However, balloons are very susceptible to damage during winds higher than 10 mph.
Dr Frazer assured fans of the event he will attempt to reschedule the glow during Light Up Middletown which runs through New Year’s Eve.
Light Up Middletown is open every night 6-10 pm, including all holidays through 12/31/10. The month-long event is held in Smith Park, 500 Tytus Avenue, in downtown Middletown, Ohio. (I-75, Exit 32)
Admission is by donation. Guests are asked to make a cash donation of any size at the gate to help defray the costs of new displays and park upgrades.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting with children every Friday and Saturday 7-9 pm through December 18. Photos are available with a donation of $10 per photo or two prints of the same photo for $15.
