The Middletown city council will hold an emergence meeting tonight at council chambers to discuss the Sutphin Street road repair project.
Repair has been halted on this major street project for about two weeks now due to a lack of funds to complete the street repair. Money was set aside to take on this project, but unforeseen problems have led to the need for more money in order to continue the work.
The question now becomes where and how will the City of Middletown come up with the money to fix the issues at hand?
Also on hand tonight will be a look in to the three month study of Middletown’s over abundance of Section 8 put together by Community Revitalization Director Doug Adkins. Tonight Mr. Adkins will make several suggestions one of which will be reducing the vouchers.
Mr. Adkins told the Middletown Journal “I am trying to give them (council) everything they need to make an intelligent decision on the fate of the program,” he said. “Now it is their decision as to what policies they want to enact.
Tonight’s special meeting should be an interesting one!
