The Middletown Arts Center is pleased to announce that the Drury Inn and Suites has joined them as a major sponsor for the "Reflections On A Pond" exhibit to be held from May 15, 2009 to June 15, 2009.   (See enclosed photograph)

"We are proud to have the Drury Inn and Suites join us in offering Kevin Macpherson's exhibit to the region.  We look forward to working with the Drury."  Linda Fisler, chairperson for the exhibit stated.

"We are proud to be a part of this event and enjoy being a part of the Middletown community.  We look forward to working with the Middletown Arts Center on this event."  stated Christy Wiley, Regional Sales Manager for Drury Hotels.

Drury Inn and Suites is currently being listed as a Gold Level Sponsor.  However, the in kind support is structured which could increase their sponsorship level to Platinum. "Drury Inn and Suites is being very generous by working with us to offer rooms at a reduced rate and will also help with getting the word out that the event is here.  The Drury is the preferred hotel for this event."  Fisler added.

"We look forward to this very important exhibition and the opportunity to bring visitors to Middletown to view Mr. Macpherson's work.  This exhibit will also provide an educational opportunity for our residents".  Judy Guilleland said of the event.

"The community has shown great support for this event and we are a year away.  There is still plenty of time to join us."  Fisler added that Evertz Technology and Rumford Productions have joined the Arts Center as Gold Level Sponsors.  Duke Energy has also contributed at the Silver Level. Alliance Printing and  Weigold Photography have joined at the Bronze Level.  "We have a few more contributors who have promised to pledge soon and when all the sponsors have been confirmed, we will announce them."

The Middletown Arts Center will be announcing the schedule and costs for the events associated with the "Reflections On A Pond" exhibit shortly.  Response to date has been excellent, with interested parties contacting the center asking for tickets to the event.

The "Reflections On A Pond" exhibit is an in-depth visual exploration.  The pond lives in the series of original small scale oil paintings by artist Kevin Macpherson.  This is not simply a group of works on a theme, nor a one year exploration of a single subject.  Rather, "Reflections On A Pond" was conceived as a physical challenge and psychological adventure in which a view out to a nearby pond would be documented on canvas at different times of the day and night, in all seasons.  It took five years to complete.

The Middletown Arts Center has the honor of exhibiting this work for the first time east of the Mississippi River.  The exhibit will be at the Middletown Arts Center from May 15 to June 15, 2009.   Mr. Macpherson will be in Middletown for an opening reception, lecture and painting demonstration the opening weekend.

It is good to see a new business quickly become involved in the community.

Thanks Drury Inn! You're proving to be a great corporate citizen.
