Your Chamber of Commerce leadership has given full and continued support for the $340M project by Sun Coke Energy to provide to AK Steel a reliable, affordable, and long term supply of coke, a vital ingredient in the steel making process, produced in a proven environmentally friendly facility that will also produce a significant amount of electrical energy as a by product for AK Steel.
We are now calling on members of the chamber to submit both in writing and via email to Middletown city council members their individual support. Time is of the essence! Emails and letters should be channeled to city council members through Betsy Parr at city hall, by the end of the day Friday, May 2. Letters hand delivered to the chamber office at 1500 Central Ave in Middletown will be hand delivered to city hall by our staff..
Your support is very important, appreciated, and critical to make sure our elected council members are aware of your thoughts on this important jobs growth and retention project for the short and long term viability of, specifically, our local steel making capability and its related supporting vendor partnerships and, in general, for the enrichment of economic development for the region.
Please contact our office with any questions, and thank your for prompt attention to this urgent request. Call us with any questions.
