The MiddletownArtsCenter
is going to be holding a special Exhibit/Reception for the Young Artists on
Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 12:30 to 3:00p.m. The Center would like to give a
special recognition to the young artists that have spent time with them by
providing them their own limelight. Their exhibits will be in the gallery of
the Center form 8/24 – 9/27. The festival will be held inside and outside
(weather permitting.) Food and drinks will be provided. There will also be a
magician, face painting, balloon sculptures, and possibly origami.
The 2008 Annual ‘Award of the Year’ went to David E. Beck. He
spent many hours volunteering at the MiddletownArtsCenter.
He is a Member of the Co-Chair of the Marketing/Development Committee since
2005. David worked weekly on the committee to reconstruct the Code of Regulations,
the Centers Mission, Purpose, Vision and Value Statements, as well as
brainstorming new publicity tactics, volunteer program, and continues to take
steps to keep the MiddletownArtsCenter
moving forward.
The 2008 Annual ‘Gardner Award’ went to Kim Minor. Kim has
been involved with the MiddletownArtsCenter
for many years. Throughout the years that she has worked there she has done a
lot more than what she has been asked to do. As of March of 2008 Kim is the
Assistant Director of the ArtsCenter.
