On August 8, 2009 the Breiel Blvd. Church of God will host a block party at Sunset Park. The party begins at 5:00pm and runs till 8:00pm there will be live music, inflatables for the kids to play on, a sand volleyball tournament,a corn hole tournament , clowns and kids games. The entire event is FREE, including the food which will be hot dogs, popcorn and icees.
This is not the first block party, but it is the first in a few years. Kenny Galdeen, one of the people helping to make this event possible told MiddletownUSA, "With Middletown hurting the way it currently is, we think it is time to renew these (community events) and bring some joy to the citizens.
The opening band will be The Nathan McDaniel Band, and they will play from 5 - 6:15pm. The Churches house band will play from 6:30 - 8:00pm. Prizes for the tournament winners will be Gift Cards to
Chick-Fil-A. Signups will be the night of the event and the tournament
will start at 5:45.
Event organizers are extremely excited about this Block Party and hope they can give away a lot of food and bring some fun to Middletown.
