Atrium Medical Center Holds Diabetes Wellness Fair |

Atrium Medical Center will be hosting there eighth-annual Diabetes Wellness Fair Thursday, November 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. November is also known as the American Diabetes Month. The event will be free and open to the public.
At the Diabetes Wellness Fair they will be offering free blood sugar, blood pressure screenings along with many others. The 20 door prizes go from gift baskets to t-shirts that will be given away. There will be representatives from various Atrium Medical Center departments on hand to discuss health information, along with several organizations and companies specializing in diabetes care.
Diabetes is known as a “silent killer,” which means that there are a lot of other diseases that are more visible or are discussed more frequently. Diabetes has affected approximately 23.6 million Americans. Of the 23.6 million there are 5.7 million people that are undiagnosed with the disease.
