Applications are being accepted for adult volunteers to help in many areas at Atrium Medical Center. Volunteers are needed to help on nursing units, as greeters in the main lobby and the Professional Building, as well as for clerical help in several departments.
Most adult volunteers serve three or four hours one day per week. To volunteer, adults must complete an application, interview and participate in a general orientation along with new hospital employees. They are then trained for their specific assignment by an experienced volunteer or by department staff. Benefits for adult volunteers include free parking and a complimentary meal on the days they volunteer, discounts at MiddCare Pharmacy and complimentary flu shots in the fall.
“Our goal is for all volunteers to find a position that suits their skills and interests, as well as their schedules,” explains Priscilla Lane, manager of Volunteer Services.
