As part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration, the Middletown Library is hosting a monthly event featuring local artists and authors who have made a contribution to the library. Browse through the displays and take a few minutes to talk with local artist Jack Howard about his work on Wednesday, May 7 in the front lobby of the library from 12 - 1 pm.
A degree in architecture, a solid business foundation and a level baseball swing - all acquired at Miami University - prepared Jack Howard for a satisfying career of civic planning, development and involvement.
Following ten years with three architectural firms, Howard returned to his hometown for a career as City Planner and Chief Designer for the City of Middletown, Ohio. In addition, he’s played a part - as administrator, president or board member - in the success of many other civic, charitable and arts organizations including: The Middletown Fine Arts Center, The Symphony, The Chamber, The Historic Preservation Council, the Cincinnati Art Club, Executive Director of the 1991 Bicentennial, Queen City Racquet Club, Glendale Planning Commission, Middletown Friends of the Library, and Glendale Historic Commission.
Howard now resides and works in historic Glendale, Ohio, pursuing interesting architectural rendering projects, grandfathering, jazz, golf, tennis and travel, as conditions permit.
