Xtreme Valley Wrestling-2Yes, Middletown now has it own wrestling league. Ed Hall owner of the Sorg Opera house and partner in the league is excited about having an event in town that he says, " Is good, clean fun for the whole family." The event is held once a month at the opera house and everyone is invited to come check out the action.

There are 4 owners of the Xtreme Valley Wrestling League (XVW) ; Ed Hall, Tom McClain, Paulie Scaravella, and Dan Adams. Ed hosts the event at the Sorg and hopes to see the crowd grow. Dan has been wrestling for 14 years and trains participants temporarily at the Sorg. He hopes to open his own school in Middletown in the near future. Dan also wrestles on a tag team, Assault and Battery. Tom McClain has previous wrestling experience and acts as the ringside announcer.  He keeps the crowd pumped up and encourages his favorite wrestlers in the ring. Tom could be found at the end of the day allowing the crowd to throw pies in his face for incorrectly guessing who would be the winner of a match.  Paulie acts as DJ and keeps the spectators entertained with music between matches. He could be seen running between his equipment and behind the scenes keeping the lineup moving and matches on time.

The league has much to be proud of. In just their first year they have signed up 40 wrestlers and won an award for having one the largest Independent Syndicates in the area. Anyone interested in more information please call the Opera House at: 513-425-0180. This is just another step in the growth of the downtown area.

I just discovered the XVW in Middletown. It was a lot of fun - love seeing the good guys beat the villains. I remember watching wrestling with my dad when I was a kid. One suggestion - since so many of the fans are kids, it would help to tone down the language. A lot of parents won't bring the family to an event where their kids will pick up language that will get them in trouble at school. The theme song for one of the wrestler's at the 8/16 show used the f-bomb at least 8 times. This can definitely hurt attendance.
