Light Up Middletown will be holding the annual Holiday Balloon Glow today December 2, 2008. This event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. It will also be have a different look for this year.

There will be 11 hot air balloons positioned around the loop driving tour of Light Up Middletown’s animated displays in Smith Park. At different times the balloons will light up the sky. This happens from the balloons propane burners which make them look like giant holiday lights blinking on and off.

This year there will not be any entertainment for the guests.  The guests should be ready to enter via Tytus Avenue, tour the display or pull off in a parking lot to watch for a longer period of time.

This year Light Up Middletown had more people for its opening day then last year having 5,925 this year and 5,391 the previous year. Light Up Middletown is open daily from 6 to 10 p.m. with the last day being New Year’s Eve.
