
About The Workshop: 'FREEING UP YOUR SPIRIT' using Fluid Acrylics. This workshop will be a chance to free your creative spirit and try some new techniques using acrylic. Let go of your inhibitions, take brush and plastic in hand and learn some new and exciting ways to paint. There will be no right or wrong in this workshop, just trying new ways of applying paint and evaluating our efforts.

More About Your Instructor: Karen Becker Benedetti has an Art Education degree from the University of Wisconsin, she has also studied at Milwaukee’s Layton School of Art. She taught elementary art for several years in Milwaukee and has taught workshops and seminars in Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin. Karen paints with watermedia and mixed media, primarily fluid acrylic, using handmade papers; both imported, and those made or embellished by the artist. The paint is applied in layers, and built up on the surface of watercolor paper, board or canvas.
The subject of Karen’s work is nature oriented, landscape and earth forms, and contemporary figurative concepts. “My paintings reflect my feelings and interpretation of the subject; my reactions to, and emotions about the inter-relatedness of everything in the universe. The statement of the piece is about present and past influences and relationships.
I am concerned about the design elements: color, line, value, texture, and the relationships of these elements, as well as the subject. Karen has received several awards, written publications, has been in many National Exhibitions, has private and corporate collectors of her work and belongs to
