In 2007, the Criminal Division of the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office continued its aggressive prosecution of violators of the laws of the State of Ohio. The Criminal Division was responsible for the prosecution of 773 indicted felonies that occurred in Warren County in 2007, as well as misdemeanors in many areas of the County.
The two assistant prosecutors assigned to prosecute misdemeanors in County Court, Anne Tamashasky and Mary Martin, were responsible for handling 9470 cases in 2007, including assaults, thefts, drunk driving, watercraft and hunting violations, and traffic violations. The Criminal Division is also responsible for representing the State of Ohio in all appeals cases, which showed a marked increase in the recent years, including several cases argued before the Ohio Supreme Court.
This year the Prosecutor’s Office was honored by the Ohio Prosecuting Attorney Association in the selection of two assistant prosecutors for meritorious awards for their work on a landmark domestic violence case.
