Scott McClinton of Prospect, Kentucky has been announced the winner of the 2007 MidFirst Ohio Challenge hot air balloon festival, beating out 31 other competitors. He was flying his American Rocket balloon. He received $1,000 in prize money and the 2007 MidFirst Ohio Challenge trophy designed by Beau Verre Riordan Stained Glass Studios in downtown Middletown.

In the second annual MidFirst Ohio Challenge Car Show, the best of show winner is Gary Dennis of Franklin, showing off his 1934 Buick.

The 5k Race held on Saturday morning in conjunction with the Middletown High School Athletic Booster Club drew 104 runners. Top female finishers were first place Brittany Henn from Beavercreak and second place Kim Noble from Hamilton. Michael Veatch and Phillip Sliger took first and second place for the males, both Middletown residents.
