Pothole Hotline Open For Business (513) 727-3691
Interim City Manager Steve Husemann demonstrated the newly created Pothole Hotline at Tuesday's City Council meeting. Councilman Jim Armbruster proposed the idea after one of the delivery trucks for his local florist company was damaged by a large pothole. You can call the hotline to report potholes; just leave a detailed message including its location by nearest address, intersection, or landmark.

Pothole Hotline: (513) 727-3691

I wonder if the pot holes near Armbruster's place get fixed first? I guess so if he is the first to call it in.

Has anyone tried calling this yet? If so, what sort of response time did you get?

Potholes are plaguing the community at this time."

"We will have someone out to look at the pothole very soon after receiving the call."

"If it is a dangerous pothole, we will have someone out there very very quickly."

All quotes from city manager, Steve Huseman.

There is also a form on the city's website you can use to report potholes. Read about the Pothole Patrol.

Vice-Mayor Jim Armbruster and Councilman Tony Marconi have both had multiple area residents contact them to ask them what is being done about the potholes that plague Middletown's streets, and what is being done about the hundreds of damage claims that have been filed with the city.

Councilman Marconi feels that the city ought to bare some responsibility to the residents whose vehicles have sustained damages, though Middletown Law Director Les Landen advises that the municipality of Middletown won't be held responsible for damages unless the pothole responsible for damage has been reported and the city did not do something to rectify the situation in a reasonable amount of time.

The potholes seem to get worse by the day! I was interviewed a couple months ago by Eric Richter from the Journal, on the state of the streets. I said then that it's not as big a deal as people were making it out to be, but I was obviously lacking in foresight.

To think, we won't have a chance to vote to get the streets repaved until nearly 2009.
