To answer the above....if I were a politician, BOE member, I would reply by saying that by having everyone pay the tax it benefits everyone by having these students someday owning a business, being a political leader, or just over-all contributing to the community upon graduation.
Now...being a father of grown children I would be all for not paying anymore into the school system. But to keep it all on an even till everyone pays.

In reference to the permanent tax clause in the school funding issue, Is there any reason the public could
not do the same as was done by the Middletown anti-ward contingent? They pulled a petition, gathered the number of signatures required to put the issue on the ballot (even though it was dis-qualified and then qualified again???) and had success in changing the local political landscape. Why would that option not be possible with the proposed school funding amendment? |
