In years past when school started I, like most responsible citizens, would always be thinking to myself that I need to be a little extra careful on the drive to work. But that was before the last school levy failed. That was before I sat in traffic every morning waiting to be waved on by some poor Middletown Police Officer in front of the neighborhood elementary school. That was before coming home for lunch took an extra 15 minutes because the traffic system is just totally overloaded with so many parents picking their kids up each day. I still do pay extra attention of course when going past a school. However I must confess the number one thing on my mind is how to avoid driving any where near our schools in the first place. |

I've been wondering how long it takes to get in and out of the high school. I imagine I'd be telling my kid to walk across the street to the city bus stop and picking them up there to avoid what must be a horrendous daily traffic jam through MHS.
