Seems old Tom will be the Super at Madison. Apparently, he was at Madison in the 90's. He's been the Super at Edgewood, a business manager at Franklin and has made his rounds within this area. Why, old Tom's been recycled more than a tire. He's like that old alley cat looking for someone to take him in for his next meal. Thatta boy!

New superintendent approved
By Meagan Engle
Staff Writer
Thursday, February 19, 2009

Four of the five Madison school board members approved the hiring of a new superintendent during a special meeting Thursday, Feb. 19.
Tom York will start with Madison Local Schools May 1.
He was approved for a contact through July 31, 2011 on an annual salary of $92,500.
York comes to Madison with 24 years of experience, including seven years as superintendent of Edgewood City Schools. He is currently serving as business manager of Franklin City Schools.
York also worked for Madison schools from 1995 to 1997 as assistant high school principal.
Board Vice President Glenn Cappel was the only board member to vote against the hire.
He explained his decision before the vote, saying he couldn't be sure York was the best candidate for the job because the board didn't advertise the opening.
He also said doesn't "really like hiring retired people."
"I'm sure Mr. York is qualified," he said. "I'm sure he'll do a good job."

1) job was not "advertised"?
2) how many times can you retire?
3) was he only hired because of his "experience" with a new building being built?
4) how do we know "he's the best" for the job if it was not advertised?

I guess if you only interview one,,,that's 1 for 1.

Time to recycle Tom York again....today's Journal....

Madison superintendent leaving
Tom York moving to Talawanda schools. He will serve as high school principal at his alma mater

MADISON TWP. — It’s been 13 years since Tom York was a principal, but he’s looking forward to the challenge.

The Madison Local School District Superintendent announced Monday that he is taking a new job as principal at Talawanda High School next school year.

York, 60, was approved Monday night during a Talawanda school board work session. He replaces Vicki Brunn, who has accepted the position as Talawanda’s director of human resources. He has been the Madison superintendent the past three years

LIKE I HAVE STATED IN THE PAST, WE RECYCLE MORE THAN ALUMINUM CANS, NEWSPAPERS AND GLASS BOTTLES AROUND THIS AREA. SUPERS AND PRINCIPALS LIKE YORK RECYCLE THEMSELVES TOO. SOME RETURN TO THE SAME SCHOOL MULTIPLE TIMES IN THEIR CAREERS. THIS GUY IS ONE OF THE BEST AT MUSICAL CHAIRS. ALMOST SEEMS LIKE, AT AGE 60, HE DOESN'T KNOW WHERE HE BELONGS. HOW MANY TIMES HAS HE BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE MADISON SCHOOL DISTRICT? MOVES AROUND FASTER THAN A PINBALL HIT WITH FLIPPERS.

How do you go from the CEO to the middle manager? Must have made some sort of mistake or this is a pre-post retirement position.
