Dayton Art Institute expands hours for Rockwell exhibit

DAYTON — The Dayton Art Institute will expand hours for the last two weeks of the special exhibition American Chronicles: the Art of Norman Rockwell. A DAI press release said that starting Jan. 25 until the exhibition’s close Feb. 5, the museum will be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Dayton Art Institute also will be open to museum members only from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday for a special viewing of American Chronicles. The exhibition, which has been viewed by more than 21,000 people since November, features 42 original artworks and a complete set of all 323 Saturday Evening Post covers created by Rockwell. Admission to American Chronicles is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors (60 and older), students (18 and older with ID) and active military, $10 for youth (ages 7-17) and free for children (ages 6 and younger). After the close of American Chronicles, the museum will resume regular hours, which are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday, and noon – 5 p.m. Sunday, with extended hours on Thursdays until 8 p.m.
