Middletown's Judge Mark Wall heard over 24,000 cases last year, over twice the amount the Supreme Court recommends for a single judge.

Based on his current caseload, yes, Judge Wall is way overbooked.
 
 
Bill under review to end Mayor's Court in Ohio
Mayor's Court is the practice of having a mayor or council-appointed magistrate preside over misdemeanors, traffic violations, and other minor legal cases in small communities. The bill, currently in the House of Representatives, would remove all Mayor's Courts in Ohio -- including those in Trenton and Monroe. Should it pass it could mean a lot more legal cases being heard in Middletown, about 3,000 from Trenton alone. Middletown's Judge Mark Wall heard over 24,000 cases last year, over twice the amount the Supreme Court recommends for a single judge.

Wow, that is a lot of cases. How on earth does he have time? With a 5 day work week that is 92 cases a day! Wow!

Doesn't really seem possible. It would have to include no-shows as well, but even taking that into consideration it seems like a very high number.

I bet he just has to sign off on a lot of cases that have been settled in advance.

 
But it would be nice to hear from some one with a little more info on the actual working of the court.
