Tombstones in driveways...but this really doesn't matter because they don't belong to any family at City Hall

Cemetery Update - 5
Visitors are welcomed to the Mddletown Cemetery by trash, weeds and bag worms. (City doesn't want flowers at the cemetery)

This is how we show respect to the founders of Middletown.
These are the only flowers left at the cemtery since the City
stole and killed all the others.
Soon they too will be dead from neglect.

In the one photo where the headstones are next to the drive.....does the driveway actually go over the grave itself ??

This condition and treatment by the city is deplorable. Maybe with the "mega-bucks" generated by the PAC & culinary school the city can spread some of the profits to the cemetery. I won't hold my breath.

Vivian- didn't we discuss, months ago, the state requirement that the city maintain this cemetery? You, Landen and other city officials met in Columbus months ago to try to come to some kind of agreement on the vault and the maintenance did you not? Seems the temporary fix of tarping the vault has become a permanent thing by your picture. What happened to the 11 thou or so that was suppose to start the vault rehab? What happened to the city's portion toward the total amount needed? Why hasn't this been started?

If the city is required by the state to maintain the cemetery, and they are still balking at the idea, do we still have the option of legal recourse to force them to take care of it? If not, why not and if so, is there an attorney to contact that will handle this? How do we approach this for a potential lawsuit?

Another thing thats interesting.....if that vault were someone's house covered with a tarp for so long the city would force a foreclosure on it or take the owner to court.

I agree with Vet....I think the only solution will be to find a way to sue the city or maybe some way to embarrass city leaders so bad that they will take care of this.

maybe someone should put a bug in Judy's ear that the vault could be used as a coffee shop and display the artwork created at PAC!  then she might be interested.
