Yes sir, Mr. Laubach- you had my vote as well as my son's vote. Now, you know what to do. Be your own independent self. Learn quickly. Don't let them sway you. Do right by the people. Stay away from the "dark side". You'll do just fine. Look forward to talking to you in the future.

Personally, I liked Tony Marconi. Thought he was a very nice person. Great to talk to. BUT- disagreed with some of his ideas on the direction of the town and thought we needed a change in direction.

Nice job Joshua!

congrats to both of the young guns...Mr. Laubauch and Smith.  Hopefully they bring a fresh view to the council.  It appears they more than likely are polar opposites on the political spectrum.  Don't let that keep you from finding ways to work together...I think they both honestly want what is best for the city of middletown.  Way to go guys!

Congrats Mr. Laubach. You had my vote.
I saw you when I voted at the Presbyterian Church.
I was a little skeered having to vote so close to that crime ridden Highland Hysterical District! LOL

Thanks Pacman and others. I really do feel blessed and honored to have such a strong showing of support  from you and others in the community. There were times when I feared that my efforts may have been in vein. However, I stuck to my plan and the prinicples that guide me. As I have stated before, I can't promise everyone will always agree with me. However, I will dedicate myself to sticking to my core values/principles and always being honest with my fellow Middletonians.  Lets start working together and turning around our community. It will take all of us and I will do my part as a citizen and your new councilman.
THANKS!
Josh

MiddletownUSA would like to thank all the candidates for taking part in the interviews we conducted. I like to believe that we here, all of us that blog and voiced our opinions played a role in this election. I would like to thank those candidates that came on the site and joined in the discussion, I hope that continues.

I feel, as do many citizens I have spoken to, that an open dialog  with the community leaders is one of the main things that have been missing in our city. I will continue in trying to bring our leaders here to discuss issues in an open forum.

Congratulations, Mr. Armbruster, Mr Smith, Mr. Laubach, and Mr. Picard

Mr. Laubach, congrats on your win. I am sure we can count on you to try to bring some sanity to city council. I will be happy to assist you if I can. I have much information that might help you understand how Middletown got in the condition it is in and also where changes should be made. I am sure that many others on this blog would be willing to help or give some good advice. Good luck!

So can I ask Mr.Laubach what is your first priority? And I know there are many problems/issues with the city but what you feel is the first on your list? I would
also like to say it will be nice to see a new face on the council and wish you the
best of luck.

I hope it gets better soon!

Congratulations Mr. Laubach. You are replacing a man we never thought you could beat. So we have underestimated you. I hope that trend continues during your stay on Middletown Council.

Who's this "we"?  I would guess a fair number of folks thought Laubach could defeat Marconi, who ran unsuccessfully before being elected to his first term in November 2005.  Remember the 3000-1000 (or something like that) loss to Nancy Nix in 2001?
