As a long-time student of probabilty, you have to question the overall strategy by the board and admin.

The tremendous risk of the combined levy and the consequences with  a failure offered a catastrophic liability when matched with the possible gain from a successful effort. The schools would have survived the current year as is, and still been able to put  a better long-term agenda on the plate. Just the renewal would have solved the bulk of the short term next year.

This could be a far worse happening than the hospital move.

Could the provisional ballots change the ending? You might think that the large majority would favor the schools, though in such a crucial instance, these ballots should be painstakingly verified.

If this is the continued logic of our board and admin, then these people are nowhere near as smart as we thought. They must be ousted en masse asap.

The aftermath could be the real story.

I think the board and the superintendent made a bad strategic move when they combined the levy with both renewal and new money.

They were warned, but they did not hear. Watch this video of evidence of being warned about combining the Levy money.

Having personally dealt with Katie McNeil it is my sincere opinion, that at least in regards to one School Board Member, the above statement by spiderjohn is more accurate then most of you will ever know. these people are nowhere near as smart as we thought.

MiddletownGrad :
Oh, I've dealt with Katie McNeil too. She and I were co-members of the Middletown Schools Technology committee and her company ws a computer service customer with CSN1 Technologies, my local computer networking company.

Spiderjohn and MiddletownGrad are on the right track. But I think McClure and Kabethe are super smart. So we shouldn't group them all in as "smart' or 'not smart'.

I don't know if it's a matter of intelligence or not, but it's definitely an issue of the BOE being a bit too cocky. It feels like they use the control of the education of the students in Middletown as a bargaining chip to get their way.

Did you guys see the Letter to the Editor today by Doug Kaufman?

If so what are your thoughts to his comments on how the ballot was arranged?
