After months of seeing almost no cars in the Towne Mall parkinglot, and no effort to market the mall.

I wonder if the owners aren't just giving up on the mall project. Is the Towne Mall for sale?

I'm not saying the mall is for sale, but take a look for yourself at the empty parking lot:

Just noticed this old thread and started to wonder if after all these years, and all the "changes" at the mall.. has anything really changed for the better?

Also found this "old" story interesting.

Splattered Platter closed their shop at the mall due to electrical problems the owner wouldn't fix

Just curious, was the owner of the Splattered Platter sure the electrical problem was the Mall owners responsibility? Could be in the contract for the shop owner to take care of these things.

Not to worry. The new mall owners have brought in a new anchor store in the old Dillards......The Halloween Store. May not last though. Doesn't look like the old parking lot is filling up as fast as we had hoped. Traffic flow is kinda keeping pace with the downtown area from the looks of it. All eyes will be on who fills their parking lots first. Will it be the "artzy/finger food/ we've still got alot of vacant stores" crowd who attracts the shoppers or will it be the "we've got businesses on the way...maybe" mall owners who win? Both look a tad bit anemic right now.

I'm so proud of my hometown and what it has become. Recall 'em all. Let's start over.

For the love of all that is holy, why do they not just sell the mall to a retailer that can open a store that is not common to the area, like a Bass Pro Shop, Gander Mountain, Costco, Sams Club, Andersons, ANYTHING BUT A FREAKING HALLOWEEN STORE!
