   Dear Fellow Republican, 

As the new Chairman of the Republican National Committee, I wanted to reach out to grassroots activists like you because you care so much about the future of our great nation. 

I ran because I believe the RNC needed some fresh leadership, new direction and a desire to create a national dialogue with the American people. 

I promised to take a hard look at how the RNC is organized and does its work. I'm doing that now and we are making some changes that will help us build a stronger and more vibrant national party. 

Understanding the past is important, but dwelling in the past is always fatal as a party. 

And if we are to return the GOP into a political party that wins elections - we've got to focus the future. 

Make no mistake - I'm proud of our core principles of limited government, free enterprise, strong national security and moral decency. 

I am going to apply those principles to today's challenges. 

As Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama attempt to ram policies counter to those principles through Congress, I'm going to draw the bright line in the sand to contrast and point to a better way for America to go. 

At the RNC, we're going to work hard to build a strong grassroots organization in every state and every community. 

We're going to build the voter turnout mechanism so that we are not at a disadvantage on Election Day. 

We're going to recruit the best candidates and provide them with the training and resources they need to win. 

We're going to create an organization people want to join and take pride in what it represents and what it will accomplish. 

That's the future I am working towards and I hope I can count on you standing with me every step of the way.
