It would appear to be “Goliaths” versus “Davids” in the upcoming municipal elections, if the newspaper article is to be believed.   (Click here http://www.middletownjournal.com/news/middletown-news/candidate-spending-varies-greatly-more-pulling-anymous-petitions-to-run-1224534.html  to read the entire article.)

Mr. Mulligan and Ms. Mort, and to lesser extent Mr. Picard, seem convinced that huge amounts of cash must be raised from outside donors, and spent, to win seats on City Council that pay a modest stipend.

Why???  And if they do raise these big dollars, might they not be beholden to the donors???  I don’t know, I’m just asking.

“Mulligan said he ... doesn’t believe they necessarily make the return on investment necessary to keep funding them.” …The Middletown Journal, January 30, 2012
