Tyus and Andrew Announce For School Board

Well, bad news for the Middletown schools. Tyus and Andrew have announced their intention to run again for the school board. IMO. we really don't need them to participate anymore in the school system's business. They haven't distinguished themselves with any notable suggestions, ideas, comments or action that would generate much enthusiasm for their re-election. Time for new candidates to emerge and for the community to see the schools go in a different direction because the current situation with the academics, discipline and general reputation of the Middletown schools is in the perverbial toilet. Administrators are overpaid and looked upon as a roadblock for the teachers. Teachers are not happy with their situation in the schools as it relates to their job function. A percentage of the student population pays no attention to the rules in place. No deterrents are in place to effectively control the student population. The academic program results are sub par; the diversity program overshadows the academic portion and the priorities are, in general, a cluster.A stronger school board is needed to provide some control over an out of control superintendent situation here. Time for the school board to dictate to the super instead of the opposite happening. You won't get that with these two being re-elected.
