Does the Middletown City Schools have generators at the schools to maintain the food supply to eliminate the waste? How about generators at the fuel pumps for the busses? Some Middletown schools have power, right? If bus service is available, why can't we get some of the students back to school? Why is it an "all schools in session or none" approach?

VieVet. Good questions. It is my understanding that in this situation no significant amount of food in our school system was lost. But no thanks to generators. The food for our schools is the responsibility of a subcontractor by the name of Sodexo. The food was moved food facilities that lost power to those that did not. Some schools were only without power for a few hours. |

I sure wish I had a generator. We are still without power at home.
