Story in today's Journal......
MetroParks, city anounce community garden project MIDDLETOWN — A partnership between the Middletown Community Center and MetroParks of Butler County hopes to revive the city’s community garden. The garden that sits next to the center has been there for about 30 years, but recently, only a handful of dedicated gardeners used the plots, according to Joel Gross, director of the Robert “Sonny” Hill Community Center. Officials at MetroParks had been looking for a location to create and manage a community garden and contacted Gross THIS GARDENING IDEA IS A GOOD USE OF THE LAND. NICE IDEA. I FOUND THIS AMUSING AS I READ IT. IT IS AMAZING HOW A SMALL ORGANIZATION LIKE THE METROPARKS CAN CREATE SO MANY TITLES AND JOB POSITIONS.......SOME EXAMPLES..... Tony Carpenter, chief of operations for MetroParks Kelly J. Barkley, community relations coordinator at MetroParks Lynette Dean, supervisor of programs and special events for MetroParks. I'D LIKE TO SEE A DIRECTOR OF FILE CABINET CONTENT AND PERHAPS A VICE PRESIDENT OF GROUND CARE AND LANDSCAPING THROWN IN. GOTTA HAVE ANOTHER DIRECTOR OF PHONE OPERATIONS AND MAYBE A VP OR TWO FOR EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT. COMICAL HOW COMPANIES AND SMALL BUSINESSES CAN CREATE SUCH IMPRESSIVE TITLES FOR SUCH SMALL OPERATIONS. ALOT OF VP'S IN CHARGE OF 3 OR 4 PEOPLE. ALOT OF PRESIDENTS OF SMALL COMPANIES WITH A 3 PERSON OFFICE. WHY PAY THE SALARIES ENCOMPASSED BY THESE POSITIONS WHEN A LOWLY SUPERVISOR WOULD DO? |

I'm so proud of my hometown and what it has become. Recall 'em all. Let's start over.
