The new exclusive Highview 6th grade school had a grand open house on August 15th. The students and parents were welcomed with hot dogs, chips and lemonade!! …to the tune of great music over a speaker system!! ….and all this in the parking lot/playground under sunny skies. Members of First United Methodist Church catered the picnic to the crowd and provided the Frisbees which acted as the plates and lemonade. Many of the Soroptomist members assisted the teachers in the orientation. It was a short and sweet celebration lasting from 6 to 7:30 but a great time was had by all. |

This is a great example of the community getting involved and supporting the schools. A huge thank you to the First United Methodist Church for taking an interest in the success of the new 6th grade school, and for volunteering their time and money to put together this picnic.

Agreed... Here is a perfect example of moms and dads, grandma and grandpa getting involved in the lives of our youth.
Children need and thrive when families get involved in their lives. |
