   The Ohio Civil Rights Commission is moving forward with a proposed a rule (OAC 4112-5-05) that would essentially gut the protections afforded to small business under the Family Medical Leave Act by requiring businesses with four or more employees to provide 12 weeks of maternity leave. 
This rule is on a fast track and NFIB needs your help TODAY!  While some NFIB members have taken action, we need additional responses to achieve victory.  Please click on the link to take action http://capwiz.com/nfib/issues/alert/?alertid=10562656&type=ML.
The proposal is headed to the Joint Commission on Agency Rule Review (JCARR), a bi-partisan committee made up of five state senators and five state representatives.  NFIB needs your help in contacting the members of JCARR and Governor Ted Strickland to outline your opposition to this anti-small-business proposal.
JCARR is set to act on the proposal at its December 3^rd hearing.  Please click on the link TODAY to contact the members of JCARR and Gov. Ted Strickland to ask for their support in defeating Rule OAC 4112-5-05.

	I hope Ted got my email. This could cost my small business thousands of dollars we can not afford to spend. Possible layoffs and reduction of full time staff if this gets passed.

	If this is passed it will result in the small business owner finding any reason to terminate an employee once there is any hint of pregnancy. This is a truly misguided action by the State of Ohio.
