How about that Eddie Richter article on the ward system ballot issue? Powerbrokers Slagel and Scorti are at it again with their weak attempt to convince the general public of non-existence on the conspiracy issue that a hidden agenda exists to control the city. He--, an " agenda to control the city" was in place back in the 60's. The difference between now and then is that it was much less subversive with Armco controlling the town. Everyone knew that Armco was the big dog and the city government did what Armco wanted them to do. Now, city government does what the secretive inner circle-MMF'ers tell them to do. I would imagine that Slagel and Scorti are MMF members and have a hand in manipulating the direction of this town through the puppet councilmembers. I would also guess that Schiavone "changed his vote" while dealing with the pain in the arm as it was being twisted by the MMF er's. Awfully convenient on the "change of heart" by Schiavone, seeing that Council made the MMF'ers mad by denying the ward elimination/council number attempt 4 votes to 3, coupled with the Michel puppet/MMF sponsored failed petition attempt to force the poll vote. How nice- MMF'er Leslie Landen's "home rule" (Hey Rocky, watch as I pull a rabbit out of my hat) will save the day for the ruiners of this town. Add Scorti, Slagel and Landen to the list (with Kohler, Gilleland Price and Michel) to buy Greyhound Bus tickets- one way- out of town, hopefully, never to return. Remember- vote NO on this ballot initiative and vote all incumbants OUT in November. Repeat as needed. It's the only way to offset the influence of these elitists.

Vet, I agree with you and your analysis, nicely done, especially the transition piece from Armco to MMF. I could not believe the comments- we need the best and brightest (implying they don't come from the wards, and can be paid for my the MMF) and well as it was established during the 60's, when racial probelms existed, which don't today (as Obama is President, we need to wipe out those wards now). I live in W3, and I was astounded the comments were made about "best and brightest"- Ward 2-4 candidates need not apply. Startling really.

Good post Vet !
I still find it amazing that 1300 signatures changed Schiavone mind. Since when did Schiavone or any council member start caring what the MINORITY thinks ? 1300 out of 50,000 +/- ? Makes no sense at all.
Maybe if I watch the sky tonight I'll see a UFO.

What do you mean Hermes this city has been doing it for years. Look at Section 8 and they continue to insist this is good for the city. Look at the whole converation about doing away with the wards, it centers around a minority set of the city. Just about everything the city does from employees, to section 8, to Public Housing, etc. is based on a very small number of people and the rest of the city suffers for it.

Your right wasteful,a minority has been running things for years.
Disregard my post. But I'm still amazed why Schiavone changed his mind.

I'm annoyed with Marconie for placing Slagel and Scortie on the charter committee. They were the dominate voices to change the type of citizen representation from 4-ward to at-large. What kind of support will he enjoy from those two and others of the same sector?
