why isn't there any diversity on Ashworth and Kohler’s gestapo-like Historic Commission? This sounds like an attempt to re-segregate S Main St. and downtown and rid them of anybody that don’t “fit in”. They always did want these “historic areas” to be predominately white, upscale trendy areas. Surprised they didn’t throw in a “token” rule for Highlands, maybe a minimum of one Asian or Hispanic, but no more than two. Didn’t Smith and Jones notice that no black leaders spoke in favor of Pendleton? Why not? Couldn’t that $450K have made a big difference for some real Econ. Dev.? |
