Middletown’s Economy Demonstrates
Healthy Growth

In 2012 Middletown’s city, business and community leaders worked together to foster innovative economic opportunities in our community. That group effort lead to growth in all industry sectors and regions of the  city, including both new construction and expansions. Our industrial sector, in particular the chemical segment, grew significantly; commercial and medical businesses also grew; retail and tourism expanded; residential development progressed; and the city’s urban rebirth continued, accelerated by the successful opening of the new Cincinnati State Middletown campus. While new projects and expansions are tangible evidence of growth, many strategic initiatives were accomplished in 2012 that will provide a foundation for continued growth. Middletown’s industrial sector experienced significant growth and expansions with many looking to further expansions in 2013 due to strong indications that additional growth is expected beyond what is currently forecasted. Read more


Brownfield Redevelopment Moves Ahead

The City prioritizes Brownfield redevelopment to improve public health and provide redevelopment opportunities. We continue to assess our inventory of sites and apply for remediation grants for site clean up. If we can improve economic development by facilitating reuse of a site, then that is a win-win for the City. Read more

Funding Available for Employer-based Training Programs

Partners for a Competitive Workforce has funds available to help employers start and/or expand training and apprenticeship programs. PCW typically pays up to 50 percent of tuition and assessment-related costs for the training program. Learn more


Small Business Seminars Offered

Cincinnati State Workforce Development Center will present a series of four business seminars designed to educate and train current and aspiring small business owners in key areas of business operations. Learn more
