Let's just say it wasn't for the lack of success.

Hearing rumors it's becoming a bourbon bar

I am not sure the specifics of the partnership.

Building owned by a different party who may or may not have been a partner. Not sure.

Mike Robinette's 'Liberty Spirits' only has a tasting room. I wonder if he has something to do with this.Ermm

I haven't seen any updates on the Cincy by the Slice that was supposed to be coming to downtown.  Thought it was going to open this summer?

I think they pretty much shut down completely.

They've closed their Loveland location in anticipation of opening in Middletown.  This summer the OTR location closed as well.

I think building has presented on-going challenges (even if they did get it for $3,000).  Perhaps money has run dry?

Not sure.  From what I understand, Robinette is teaming with One Bistro to operated One Market & Eatery http://www.omemiddletown.org/" rel="nofollow - http://www.omemiddletown.org/  out of the Vail Street Property (old Hobby Shop).

He continues to make progress on the Central building for Liberty Spirits.

The Canal House
September 29 at 12:29pm ·
From there Face Book page

It’s with deep sadness that we announce the closing of The Canal House Bar & Grille on Broad Street. Your support over the last two years made possible a very successful start to a nice little downtown business. Unfortunately, circumstances require that we close the doors at the Broad Street location.
The Canal House opened its doors at a time when there were few downtown places to go. Thankfully times are changing and there are now numerous downtown gathering establishments with more on the way. We are proud to have been a part of the revival happening in our downtown and we are very confident of even greater progress in the coming months and years as the core of our wonderful community continues to grow.
We feel truly blessed to have made many new friends, renewed old friendships, and to have been a part of helping bring our community together for fun and good times. There are so many special memories that will last a lifetime. We want to express our sincerest thanks to our Canal House staff and support services and especially to our patrons. You’ve always been, and will always be, part of The Canal House family.
Until we meet again.
