Did anyone else notice that it appears the Journal-News website is no longer allowing any comments at all on any of its stories?

Shouldn't surprise anyone who remembers when the Journal had a forum years ago. Some on this forum were contributors to the Journal forum and when the heat and pressure of the truth became too intense and the criticism became too much, The Journal pulled the plug on their forum. I would imagine the same has happened with the ability to comment on their stories. Some are too controversial and may cause serious friction between segments of this city. Some may indict the apparent contagious idiocy in the running of this town. Speculating that the city building insisted the Journal pull the plug on the citizens comments through the paper with the Journal in complete compliance like the good puppets they are required to be.
Hey!......sounds like the same rules apply when one speaks in front of council. If one were to speak to council, are "friends of city hall" and council likes what they hear, as you massage their egos of course, they will let you go way beyond the 3 minute limit. If they don't, ole' Lar the Mayor, will ask you to step down, sometimes short of the 3 minute time limit. SOP for city officials with dictatorial intentions.

It should come as no surprise that the owners of this newspaper would stifle dissent. They're not interested in Middletown; only money.

The comments were mostly a joke anyway. The most prolific of those who posted comments appeared to be little more than name calling internet trolls.
