Middletown Journal- June 11 edition- Price not one of the finalists for the Cincinnati School System Super. job. The Cincy job would have paid $196,000 to Price's current $121,000/year. Price has been here since 2001 according to the article. The article also states that Price will continue to work for the students and the community. Well, let's see-- His "work" since 2001 has consisted of gaining the ranking as the lowest graded school system in the area, in all grades and in all categories in regard to the proficiency tests. We have passed numerous levies since his arrival and have not seen a noticiable gain in academic achievement. We have seen salaries for admin. and a multitude of admin positions created with occasional double dipping occuring. We have seen other urban districts surpass Middletown's performance and achieve excellent status. Price said that he had hoped Middletown would become the first urban district to achieve excellence. We haven't heard that from Price for awhile, have we? Thanks to Venturella and his other buddies, he was given an extension until 2011. This extension couldn't have been due to his performance, but as a reward from one friend to another apparently. Why did Venturella and others want to extend the contract to a person who has damaged the schools? The buddy system at it's finest apparently.
