Malachi Partnership

For the last few years, the Community Revitalization Department has partnered with Malachi in the Youth Opportunities Program’s Summer Employment Options. Malachi works with youth year round teaching them valuable job skills. For 6 weeks each summer, Malachi places their students at a host site to allow them to gain real work experience and to put what they have learned into action. The Community Revitalization Department has 1 youth who works in the parks as well as in the office to expose him to a variety of tasks. We have 3 youths that work at the Community Center helping staff with the Summer Camp programs. Many of these youth will be the first in their family to go to college. Malachi’s Youth Opportunities Program is a long term program that works with youth from the time they are teenagers to the time they are in there early twenties, teaching them the necessary life skills to go out in society and succeed at whatever they choose to do.
