Journal article about the suggestions on what people want for their city....

A swimming pool??? We just filled one in a few years ago. City can't afford anything outside of their downtown area, remember?

A "doggy walking park??? Discussed a year or so ago. A committee was assigned to investigate the feasibility of using the area around the old Roosevelt school on Central and toward Sunset Park as a doggy park. Never heard back from the committee and it died on the vine as far as we know.

A Chick-Fillet???? Had one in the mall. Closed up as the mall was dying. No business. Kinda expensive too for the low income town this has become.

That "All American City" talk. Got a long way to go before we get that 1958 designation back again. The city is a shell of what it was in 1958 as to quality of people, plentiful jobs, higher standards of living, more entertainment, lower crime, no drug issues, better city operational methods, better roads and infrastructure, less "shabby looking" city as you drive through it, more people taking pride in their homes and property, occupied buildings rather than many vacant ones, more money flow, a downtown offering an interest factor to most residents, competent government, a total overhaul of the schools as to operation and academic outcome (new schools alone won't get it people), etc......

Noticed the article showed some MMF representative in the downtown area (of course). Same old song. Same old time worn theme never recognizing that a new direction is needed with input from those who are never asked but have a different take on things here. Same old plan gets you the same old results. Guess the powers that be haven't recognized that as yet.
I'm so proud of my hometown and what it has become. Recall 'em all. Let's start over.
