WCCS Helps With Medicare RX Enrollment

If you want to receive benefits through the new Medicare D prescription program by January 2006, time is running out. You must sign up for a drug plan if you want your coverage to start January 1. Tammy Adams, OSHIIP counselor with Warren County Community Services, Inc., ( WCCS) is well aware that the program is complicated with many choices for older adults.

Tammy is assisting Warren County older adults and their family members to understand the Medicare D program and also show them enrollment options for the different drug plans.  WCCS is providing an overview of Medicare D and providing assistance with those trying to select a drug plan on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. at the Franklin Public Library, 44 East Fourth St.

Seniors must have an appointment to meet individually with Tammy to look at various drug plans.  To make an appointment, please call Tammy Adams at 513-261-2210. You will need to bring a complete list of your medications and your Medicare card.

According to Adams, she will be helping people through December. Seniors can also get information, compare drug plans and enroll at www.medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-Medicare.  WCCS and Tammy’s position is funded by the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio and Warren County United Way.
