U.S. EPA Brownfields Grant Kick-Off Meeting
Please join us! Public welcome!
The City of Middletown, in association with The Chamber of Commerce serving Middletown, Monroe and Trenton, will hold a public meeting on its U.S. EPA brownfields grant on February 23, 2006 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Little Miami Ballroom at the Manchester Inn in Middletown, located at 1027 Manchester Ave.
Brownfields are abandoned, idled, or under-used industrial and commercial facilities where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by real or perceived environmental contamination. The City of Middletown has received a grant from the US EPA to assist property owners in assessing the level of contamination on these properties – a key step in the process of reuse or redevelopment.
Middletown residents, brownfield and commercial property owners, local business and other interested parties are encouraged to attend to learn more about:
· Key steps in U.S. EPA brownfields grant process and how funds will be used;
· Targeted property areas where the grant may be used within the City;
· The City’s overall brownfields goals for 2006-2007; and
· Ways to participate and learn more about the program in the future if you own property within key targeted areas.
Your participation is encouraged and will help the City in its brownfields planning efforts. Environmental professionals will be on hand to answer questions and provide educational information on the U.S. EPA grant process. Questions or comments on the meeting should be directed to:
