Couch Potatoes NOT Invited. Experience Thrills, Fun and Challenge at the SportsLeader Cyclo – Cross Challenge on Saturday, October 14th.
The SportsLeader Challenge is a fun and challenging cycling adventure for kids aged 6 to 12. Kids will try their hand on the 2.1 mile course which winds it's way around and through Sunset Park. Each competitor will set out from the start and try to complete the course in the shortest possible time, while trying to earn bonus points on the special challenge sections, including the Roller Coaster, The Beach, and the Denny Lumber Mill.
Ages 6-7 will complete ¾ lap, about 1.5 miles; 8-9 year olds will do 1 full lap, 2.1 miles, and ages 10-12 will complete 2 full laps, 4.2 miles. Registration closes at 1:45 pm, and the first rider goes off at 2:00 pm.
Every entrant will receive a very nice gift for signing up. Everyone who finishes their event will receive a personalized certificate of achievement. Top finishers in each age group will receive trophies and ribbons courtesy of Al Neyer Inc.
The event is free. Kids must have a parent / legal guardian present to enter.
An information / practice session will take place in Sunset Park from 5:30 pm until dark on Wednesday, October 4th.
The SportsLeader Challenge is one event at the Java Johnny's Lionhearts Cyclocross Race. The event is brought to you by the Queen City Wheels Bicycle Racing Club Inc. and SportsLeader. The event includes races for all ages and abilities, from beginner to elite. The events are presented by the Queen City Wheels Bicycle Racing Club, Inc. Queen City Wheels is an Ohio not-for-profit corporation which exists to promote the sport of bicycle racing, primarily for educational purposes.
