There are two open seats to be filled on the Middletown City Council this November, and six people campaigning for the job. Two of the residents are incumbents: Lalisa Lawrence and Christopher K. Amburgey were appointed earlier this year by Council to fill vacated seats. The others looking for the job are Gary Lee Barge, William Becker, Anita Scott Jones, and Gery Lynn Maples.
Also up for grabs at the end of the year will be three seats on the Middletown Schools Board of Education. With two incumbents again in Katie McNeil and board vice president Mark McClure, others seeking the job include former city councilman and school board member Rev. Gregory Tyus, and retired city fire chief John Sauter. Also running are Christopher Fiora and Andrew Smith Jr.
