TIPP CITY – State Senator Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) announced that Republican State Central Committee members, Stephanie Garrett and Darryl Mehaffie, have endorsed his candidacy to serve as the next Congressman for Ohio’s 8th Congressional District.  Garrett and Mehaffie represent the 5th Republican State Central Committee District, which includes Miami, Preble and portions of Darke and Montgomery Counties.

“I know it can be challenging sometimes to figure out who to support in a Republican Primary – especially when you have 15 candidates on the ballot,” said Darryl Mehaffie.  “I want my fellow Republicans to know that in this race, there is only one candidate that we can count on to stay true to his conservative values and fight for the meaningful reforms our country needs – and that man is Bill Beagle.  I know Bill personally and I’ve seen firsthand the type of principled and honorable leader he is.  I am proud to call Bill Beagle my State Senator and will be even prouder to call him my Congressman.”

The 5th Republican State Central Committee District covers three of the six counties included in the 8th Ohio Congressional District.  Mehaffie, a retired educator, has served on the Republican State Central Committee for over nine years and is the Chairman of the Ohio Republican Party Budget and Oversight Committee. Garrett is a graduate of the Jo Ann Davidson Ohio Leadership Institute, Chair of the Preble County Republican Party Central Committee and serves as a member of the Republican State Central Committee.
