Not a very good idea. While it is nice for the police and fire divisions to do this, they cannot possibly reach every street in every neighborhood, plus not everybody will know where to find them not to mention knowing the time to look for them come down their particular street (if they do). For example, last year we just happened to be walking down another side street in our neighborhood at the time the fire division was driving by. If we had not been on that street at that exact time, we would have missed out. By having T&T at the city building, it gives the opportunity to all residents to go somewhere during a specified time to enjoy some Halloween festivities. Otherwise it is just a crap shoot. Bad move. |

I find it hard to believe that you cannot take donations to purchase candy from the employees since we pay a large amount of their health care. The cost should be minimum since you already have decorations from prior years. The children look forward this, as to the parents. How much does this really cost? |

Give me a break. This ploy is just to give police/ fire department a carrot for leverage to raise taxes as they pass out candy. Really disturbing and another 'dummy down' ploy. Police officers and firemen do not need to be wasting gas nor their time stirring up votes, passing out candy. Another bad move. Just like Pendeleton, and I thought Larry Mulligan said all city council's move were for the betterment of the majority, not the few. |

Last year it was the H1N1 virus this year it's something else. A program for the police and fire to hand out candy. People I think the bottom line here is they just don't want to have Halloween at the City Building anymore. Think about it! |
