The Monroe Police Department will participate in "National Night Out" for the seventh consecutive year. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 2nd from 6-9 p.m. in the Monroe Community Park.
Scheduled activities for this year's event include: FREE cookout with food and beverages, Neighborhood Watch Association registration, safety vehicle displays, child fingerprinting, and a K9 demonstration.
Prize drawings will held throughout the evening. Prizes to be given away include a gas Bar-BQ grill, 18 holes of golf and numerous gift certificates from area businesses. Area residents are invited to this FREEcommunity event sponsored by the Neighborhood Watch Association. Invite your neighbor to come along and enjoy this "Night Out Against Crime".
The community event is designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness Generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. |
