MID-MIAMI VALLEY CHAMBER BUSINESS EXPO – UPDATED PLANS
Thursday, October 30, 2003 12:00:00 AM - Middletown Ohio
Plans are being finalized for the 2003 Chamber Business Expo which includes several new elements this year. The event is being sponsored by Computer Service Now with special help from US Bank.

The 2003 version of the annual business showcase event is moving to a new location, across the street from the location of past expos, into the former Swallen’s building at the corner of Verity Parkway and Manchester Avenue in downtown Middletown. With more space for booth displays, additional businesses are taking advantage of the chance to show their services and products to the public and other business customers.

The free event will be open to the public from noon to 7 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2003 and will include easy parking on the street or in the Middletown City Garage (only 25 cents per vehicle) with elevator access to the expo location.

A series of speakers will share their expertise on various subjects pertaining to starting, growing and expanding a business and its building. At 1 pm, Jim Parks from MTP, Inc. will talk on “Enable Innovation.” At 2 pm, Dennis Beatty, architect will speak. Craig Maynard, Director of the Small Business Development Center will discuss How to Start Your Own Business at 3 pm, and Joanne Mejias-Yancey, architect with the City of Middletown, will speak at 4 pm on the Criteria for Opening a Business in Downtown Middletown.

In addition, eight caterers and restaurants will share samples of items on their menus with expo guests in a special section called “Cuisines of the Mid-Miami Valley”.

A computer café will be available with access to the internet for browsers to try the computer equipment and check the web sites of Expo businesses.

From 5 to 7 p.m. the traditional Business After Hours sponsored by Miller Brewing Company will be held at the Expo with snacks provided by the food exhibitors.

There is still time for last minute booth registrations. Contact Emily Harris at the Mid-Miami Valley Chamber of Commerce at 513-422-4551 or register on line at www.mmvchamber.org. Expo guests may register as they enter the expo or register in advance via the chamber website. Either registration method will enter each guest in the drawings for Expo door prizes.
