MIDDLETOWN, OHIO-----At the October Middletown Area Federation of Women’s Clubs General Membership meeting, Ruth Cassidy, president of announced that under her leadership, the Executive Board and past presidents of the MAFWC would serve as co-chairs for the 89th annual Charity Ball. Theme for this year is “A Moment in Time.
Ms. Cassidy informed attendees that Federation and community members who will assist in the planning and execution of this year’s dance include: invitations, Tammi Thompson business patronage, Ruth Cassidy club patronage, Miriam Johnson dance patronage, Tammi Thompson hospital delegate, Marilyn Goughneour table reservations, Midge Bailey Bryant and Shirley Tillman night of the ball/greeters, Mary Mauer decorations, Virginia Jenkins, Carolyn Parmer, Shirley Tillman and Mary Ellen Thomas decoration sales, Delores Revelos invitations/program, design, Janis Nein publicity, Frances Sack treasurer, Barbara Brown master of ceremonies, Dan Sack entertainment, Rich Monroe and Sounds Unlimited photography, Nick Powell and advisors, past Charity Ball Chairs.
The 89th annual Charity Ball will be held on Friday, December 4 in the Great Miami Room at The Manchester Inn & Conference Center. This will be a dinner-dance starting at 6 pm with cocktails and holiday music provided by Marilyn Ifcic in the main lobby of the hotel, and a sit down dinner at 7 pm with dancing until midnight. Cost is $50 per person or $100 per couple contributing as a Grand Patron $150, includes dinner and a listing in the program –both include two admissions to the Ball. College age students may attend evening festivities at the Junior Patron admission of $25. Checks should be sent to: Ms. Tammi Thompson, 110 Old Street, Monroe, OH 45050. Funds raised from the 89th Charity Ball will benefit the Children at the Maternal Child Health Center. This program helps children and families need medical support. This service is offered at the Atrium Medical Center, Premier Health Campus-Middletown. The Middletown Area Federation of Women’s clubs has donated more than $985,000 to various projects since the first dance at the Elks Temple, formerly on Main Street in 1920.
