Superintendant Elizabeth Lolli initiated her drive for the honor of being guest conductor for our local symphony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Pratt on Sunday afternoon. There were approximately 75 guests who were served fruit, cheese, tea sandwiches, and sumptuous desserts along with tea of course.
The guests were friendly and sociable. The tables were decked out in white linens and fresh flowers. The piano music was live and great. AND the guests paid for the privilege of supporting the Symphony.
As an unusual accompaniment, Helen Stevens-Gleason contributed a style show of wonderful hats. Purses, scarves and jewelry were compliments of Kathryn’s a local interior design business. Ms. Gleason’s extensive collection originated from the many vintage hats that belonged to her mother as well as some newer ones of her own. Many of the creations were one of a kind from very posh sources.
Carole Schul reminded the guests of the free Labor Day Concert by the Symphony at Woodside Cemetery. Concert goers will need to bring their own folding chairs to that event.
