Middletown native, Heather Butt, joined over 1,000 of her fellow Morehead State University students in participating in MSU's spring commencement exercises on Saturday at the Academic-Athletic Center.
Butt, a candidate for a bachelors degree in Business Administration from the College of Business, was chosen to speak to her fellow graduates and their families, "As children, we let our imaginations lead us. Our imagination paves the way for dreams. It allows us to set goals and progress. Along the way, while being driven by our imaginations, we have had guidance from family and friends and are given knowledge from teachers. Today, we have become self-sufficient. We imagine what the future has in store for us and have made plans to pursue our dreams."
Butt was recognized because of her various achievements throughout her college career. She served as captain of the women's tennis team, president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and as a math tutor, all while maintaining a 3.955 grade point average.
Heather Butt is the daughter of Doreen and Rodney Hampton of Middletown and Todd and Sandi Butt of Trenton.
